GENERAL UNIFORM POLICY

The art of classical ballet is the art based on centuries of tradition carried from generation to generation. This is why the majority of good professional ballet schools establish certain rules and policies regarding appropriate ballet attire; many of them enforce certain ballet dress codes or have uniforms. Uniforms helps maintain discipline, respect, eliminates unnecessary distractions and creates a professional look of students and the school. 

Hair must be secured in a bun. Necklaces, watches and other jewelry should not be worn  in class. Small earrings are allowed. In general, girls will not be allowed to wear any additional items over or under their leotards, except for the warm-up items for warming up in the cold time of year.

Boys are required to wear black tights, white T-shirt, white socks and white ballet shoes. Hair must be neatly trimmed. No ponytails, tattoos, earrings or body piercing will be allowed.

LEOTARD STYLES FOR CLASS LEVELS 1 - 5 - UPDATED on August 23, 2011

Girls in each class level are required to wear leotards of specific color designated for this

class level. The following models should be purchased either at The Dance Shop

in Fort Worth or ordered from www.discountdance.com

-Level 1 - Mirella Camisole Dress [M201C2] - Pink

-Level 2 - Mirella Camisole Dress [M201C2] - Light Blue

-Level 3 - Mirella Leotard [M207C] and Skirt [MS12CH] - Lilac

-Level 4-5 - Mirella Leotard [M210LD] and Skirt [MS12] - Periwinkle

-Level 6-8 - Body Wrappers Camisole [P354] and Skirt [P353] - Steel

• All levels should wear pink footed tights of any professional brand and pink soft shoes, canvas (if available) split sole type.
• For company rehearsals on Friday and Saturday, as well as private lessons students may wear any color ballet leotards and skirts.
• Shorts, pants, t-shirts over the leotard are not allowed. If any undergarment is needed, only ballet undergarment in nude color should be used under the leotard.
• For character dance classes students should wear black character skirts of any professional brand, for example Natalie [N8108] and black character shoes.
• You will get a discount at The Dance Shop if you mention that you are a student at Marina Almayeva School of Classical Ballet
